Picture this…

We get picked up and dropped in a random city.

We’ve never been to this city before.

We don’t know anyone.

Our phone contacts have been deleted.

And we can’t ask our sponsor for help.

What would we do?

Do we have the skills to build our business completely from scratch without having any warm market contacts?

What about our team members?

Could they?

Maybe we should figure this local thing out.


Step 1 – Get a business line

If we want to create a successful local team, we need to know how to acquire leads and customers locally.

Often, we will need to branch out beyond friends and family.

Where do we start?

We will need a way for prospects to call us.

First, let’s set up a business line.

We don’t want people to be able to ring us at all hours of the night.

We also want to have a life apart from prospecting.

Now, we can set our own working hours.

Now, we’ll sound more professional.

Having a business line makes sense.


Step 2 – Use prospecting methods that work

We will need to learn how to generate local leads.

We want interested prospects to call US.

We don’t have time to scour the internet for solutions.

We need methods that work.

Proven methods that we can implement right away.

So where will we learn these methods?

Let’s pick two or three and invest the next 60-90 days to master them.

It will take us that long to get good at it.

Then, we’ll be able to teach our team from experience.

Now, we can be successful locally.


Step 3 – Teach your team members

It happens.

People sponsor people and do absolutely nothing to help them.

We want our new team to succeed.

We all want them to be competent.

Everyone knows that our team will do what we do, not what we teach.

So that means we must first become competent ourselves.

Think about it.

We wouldn’t allow a child into the deep end of a pool without first ensuring they could swim, would we?

Of course not.

Truth is, we may even have them prove to us that they could in fact swim before we even considered letting them venture out on their own.

So we too, must ensure that our new members learn the core skills of our profession so that they can succeed.
