“I have to talk to my spouse”

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again…

…people have issues.

They love to buy but hate to sell.

They don’t have time, but spend hours in front of their TVs or smartphones.

They don’t have the money, but they buy food, clothing and alcohol like there’s no tomorrow.

Yes, when someone tells us they need to talk to their spouse, they are either lying so that they can put off the decision indefinitely OR they actually do wish to chat with their spouse before making a decision.

We can handle this objection the same way we handle the “I need to think it over” objection.

First, we’ll need to find out if it’s real, or if they’re just trying to say no. We can say:

“Hey Sarah, I hear you. But, tell me this, and just be honest, is it REALLY that you have to talk to your spouse or is that just a polite way of saying no? Because I’m totally cool either way, I just wanna help you.”

If they say “No”, let ’em go.
