I don’t need to tell you that facebook is a beast. Almost everyone is on it. Almost no one knows how to use it the RIGHT way to grow their business. Everyone says they want to use facebook to get more customers but almost nobody knows how to go about it in a way where your friends and family don’t roll their eyes every time you make a new post.
In this post I’m going to cover some of the basics of what you should be posting, I’m going to give you a daily formula you can follow to start getting results and share a super special thing you can do when it’s someone’s birthday on facebook that’ll make their day truly memorable (which if you haven’t figured it out yet – is a big piece of the puzzle when it comes to building a HUGE business).

What to post about
Let me start by telling you what NOT to post about. From this point forward you are a PROFESSIONAL networker, and a professional networker would NEVER post a rant, belittle another human being or organization, complain about how bad they’ve got it or post about their latest high score in the game they were playing.
A PROFESSIONAL posts inspirational, motivational or encouraging things. Take 2 minutes and write something ORIGINAL that your “perfect customer” would love or can absolutely relate to. For example:
“Just booked my flight to the bahamas! Who else enjoys the beach?”
or
“Here’s a before and after pic. I never thought I’d make it at first, but I finally found something that WORKS for me!”
Notice what I did here.
I’m not posting a link to my products or talking about how great my company is. I’m intentionally putting things out there that make someone curious and want to comment “what is it?” or “how are you doing this?”.
When they ask me something like that, I simply send them a PM (private message) and continue the conversation there.
Here’s another great example:
Y’see amateurs vomit their product or opportunity all over people, but PROFESSIONAL networkers learn how to make the serious people come to THEM.
What is my daily facebook formula?
Set a daily minimum presentations for yourself and stick to it.
Let’s say you have a MINIMUM goal of 3-5 presentations a day. You’re going to shoot for 5 but, no matter WHAT you will not go to bed that day until you’ve shared the presentation with at least 3 people.
Once you’ve got a daily minimum, the actual steps you take to get there become a lot clearer. As far as creating new connections on facebook, that is relatively simple, just REMEMBER: the conversation needs to happen in messenger NOT on your wall.
Your goal needs to be to get them off your wall and into messenger as soon as humanly possible, and from messenger to on the phone. DO NOT ever send any information or present over messenger/your wall. You always need to book them to a phone call/webinar or personal meeting. THIS IS KEY.
That being said (let’s say my number is 3 presentations/day MINIMUM), I’d search for a page that my “perfect customer” might be into and send 5-10 friend requests to people that (look cool) and like that page.
Next I’d join 5-10 groups/day and interact with other neat people inside the group. If I’m in a health & wellness company, I may look for fitness pages, or organic/natural groups. Whatever the case, you need to be connecting with enough new people EVERY day to hit your daily minimum presentations.
You mentioned something about birthdays?
Yes I did! Birthdays are a big deal. But, what does everybody do? They typically post “happy Birthday!” on someone’s timeline and then never talk to them again for the rest of the year.
If you want to truly stand out, open up facebook messenger and record yourself singing “happy birthday” to someone, but WAIT until the day after their birthday.
They’ll message you back with something sweet like “thank you”, or “aww.. you shouldnt have” and then simply ask them what they did for their birthday. This will get the conversation rolling again, and, if you find a need you can book a time with them to share more about how your opportunity or products could help them.
