Everyone needs a goal to aim at.
If we don’t have goals, we’re like a blindfolded sniper.
Completely clueless, and dangerous.
People can pick us off without us ever having a chance.
We’ve all heard things like goals need to be measurable, or dream bigger than we currently are, but most of us have no idea what they’re talking about.
It’s why new people turn and run the moment things get tough.
It’s why we’ll spend years attending meetings and trainings and still be stuck like a stick in the mud.
So how can we set goals and keep them?
Let’s start here:
One of the biggest reasons we forget about our goals is because we never talk about them.
Sure, we may have a dream board on our fridge.
We may even have positive affirmations posted all around the house.
These are good, but they won’t stick.
It is too easy to get distracted.
It’s second nature to get discouraged.
No, if we want to create unshakable goals we will need to literally re-program our entire mind to get results.
Thankfully, this is easy to do.
We can start by writing our goals down.
Typing them doesn’t work.
With a pen and paper let’s write our first goal down.
Then, every morning and right before we go to bed we will read our goal aloud while looking ourselves in the eye via the bathroom mirror.
Now, we can see that we mean business.
Starting now until we achieve this goal, we will keep this piece of paper with us at all times, and, anytime we think of it, we will pull this piece of paper out of our pocket or purse and read it aloud.
Let’s shoot for 5-10 times a day.
Yes, this is very easy to do.
It is also very easy not to do.
Let’s ask ourselves this:
“How badly do I want to succeed?”
